DETROIT RED WINGS – 2008 STANLEY CUP CHAMPS

Congratulations to the Detroit Red Wings who won their 11th Stanley Cup Championship in franchise history, holding off the Pittsburgh Penguins, 3-2, on June 4th and winning the series in six games. They were the best team in hockey this year when it was all said and done. Hats off to the Penguins on a solid playoff run, in the end, the Wings were far more superior but the Pens battled right to the very end. It was a great playoffs and very exciting to watch.
