About Me
I am a recent graduate from the University of Southern California in the Marshall School of Business. I have been playing ice hockey since I was 11 years old. I played for the Burbank Golden Bears, Loyola High School, and USC during my freshman year. I quit playing competitively though because of a couple of injuries, my desire to do well in school, and my plans to study abroad in Europe during my junior year. By the way, I studied in Holland for 6 months and it was the best time of my life. Not only did I study in Erasmus, the University of Rotterdam, but I also went skiing in the Austrian Alps with my Czech cousins, travelled to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Berlin, Prague, Milan, Florence and other cities, and saw a couple European soccer matches, most notably AC Milan v. Fiorentina. I have stories to talk about for days.
Anyway, besides my interest in Europe I love being active whether that means skiing at Big Bear, playing volleyball at Manhattan Beach, or competing in local tennis tournaments. I hate staying in, but on the few occasions that this does happen, I indulge in movies and TV shows. One of my favorites being Californication, which aired on Showtime last fall. Unfortunately, this has been the only thing I could do since November 4th, when I tore my ACL playing flag football with some friends. I had surgery over winter break and recovery is about 6 to 9 months, so I still have a long ways to go but I feel I can reunite myself with my active lifestyle through this blog about the NHL. Check out my blog about my surgery: selicha.blogspot.com.

Nice blog, all good stuff. Also, I couldn’t help but notice you attend SC. I was there in the late ’70’s. Lived in Trojan Hall (3rd North). Back then, the campus was a bit “tired”. Then, the Olympics came to L.A. and they gave SC a great makeover.
Funny thing — it’s three decades later and I still despise that school across town in Westwood.

Alex,
Greeeeaaaaaaaat blog!, it gets me fired up to go see a hockey game. the only game i’ve been to was a pre-season game..the ducks vs. kings. it was a great game, ton’s of action and fantastic “gloves thrown” brawl!. Opta. will pay for a game night, let us know when/where a good game is and we will set it up.
Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to optawise!. Soon we will be in an office and we can get to know eachother better. Put work aside, and have some fun!
work hard..play harder
